Remote Learning/Back to School
Catch a ride if you can.
APS doesn’t have enough bus drivers to resume all routes, so it’s prioritizing transportation for students and areas with the highest needs. Walking groups and carpools are encouraged as safe options, and students can ride city buses for free. Please let your school know if you need help with transportation.

Grab and Go Meals
Monday August 10th, families can pick up a week’s worth of meals from 11 AM–12:30 PM or 4–5:30 PM. APS comprehensive high schools serve as pickup locations. Starting August 17, families will need to bring pre-printed tickets to pick up meals. The tickets will be available at Jefferson August 13 and 14 from 7–9 AM or 11 AM–1 PM. The tickets will include the student's name, ID number, and school.

The intention for this school year is for each student to have an APS issued Chromebook. It is likely we may shift to and from different learning models this school year. With this in mind, it is essential each student has a Chromebook programmed and managed by APS and is kept up to date. If your student has already been issued a Chromebook from APS, you’re good to go. If your household has an APS Chromebook issued to another sibling in your household that is being shared, your student will need to pick up their own device.
Our parent pickup/drop off loop will be used for the drive through distribution of Chromebooks. The entrance to the loop can be accessed from Girard and is on the north side of the campus.
Please contact the main office if arrangements need to be made for an alternate pick up time within the designated days and times.

AVID Strategy for Learning
Are you looking for an AVID strategy to help your child process something they are learning about right now?
Try an AVID D.L.I.Q. Learning Log.
Pick up a book, article, or magazine, watch a documentary or take a virtual visit to a museum. Your student can write about what they DID, what they LEARNED, what they found INTERESTING and what QUESTIONS they have. This is an effective way to write about and process something learned.
Encourage students to share their learning logs with their teachers!
